LG Report Visits Montana

I’m not sure exactly what the LG Report is (think it’s the blogger’s initials – Lazarus G____?), but he’s started a 50-State Interview series, and in today’s installment he visits with a Montanan:

Today we move on to the second installment in The LG Report’s 50-State Interview Series (collect ‘em all!) After starting with Dannie in New York, we’re packing up the wagon train and heading out West to meet Patty from Gardiner, Montana. Giddyap little doggie!

The stereotypes and jokes are rampant in the interview, but I think it’s relatively harmless, good for a few chuckles. Go say hi.

Here’s a whimsical site that has been going for a while:The Button Valley Bugle! It is the official news blog of the Last, Best, Imaginary Place: Button Valley! From the About page:

Montana Watchdog

A new media outlet seems to be off to a good start in Montana: the Montana Watchdog. According to the website: “It is a branch of the Montana Policy Institute, a nonpartisan policy research center and an associate member of the Montana Newspaper Association.” Be sure to follow them on Twitter and/or Facebook, too.
UPDATE: looks like the folks at Montana Watchdog are on Governor Schweitzer’s radar!

The dark horse just might turn out to be the front-runner: some sources are saying that they have confirmed that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has been selected as John McCain’s Vice-Presidential nominee. You knew that there is a blog about this, right? I suspect that most (not all, but most) Montanans will approve of this selection.

Montana Appreciation Day

I’m not sure what calendar she is referring to, but Tara from Ohio has posted a blog entry about “Montana Appreciation Day!” I did some light Googling and couldn’t find any references to such, but I sure like the idea of having a day of appreciation for our wonderful state! Tara, we might have to make you an honorary Montanan :-)
