Skydiving Tragedy
May 12, 2007 | 1 Comment
This is horrible: an airplane carrying two skydiving instructors, two skydiving students, and one pilot crashed near Marion today, killing all five people. The company, Skydive Lost Prairie, is located in NW Montana east of Kalispell. What a tragedy…my friend Ida did a skydive with the company about three years ago, and we were worried about the actual jump – not the plane ride. My sympathies to the families of all of the victims. I jumped with Lost Prairie last Summer around the end of July. Joel was my instructor. I have to say that he was the most stoked kid I’ve ever met in my life. As well, I played poker with him months after the jump at the Remington in Whitefish. He will be missed for sure, but I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m glad he was able to go out doing what he loved. Most of us just dip our toes in or dream life away. While we were doing that, Joel was living it. -Arthur Rodgers
