You probably haven’t heard of the town known as McKinley, because it technically doesn’t exist. Except, that is, in your mind. McKinley is the name of a fictional town along the Rocky Mountain Front; a town that is being developed, created, documented, and considered by you. Yes, YOU. It is an open-source history of a town that doesn’t exist. That means that it is wide-open for whatever you want to place in it. Hunters, shopkeeps, ranchers, kids, teachers, media, builders – whatever McKinley has, it’s because you put it there. Events from McKinley’s past can be created, documented, and shared. For inspiration, you might want to check out A History of Montana by Kodak, or Ghost Cowboy, or lots of other Montana history sites. Anyone can contribute, and all are welcome.

David, I eMailed the link you provided for McKinley, Montana to about 18 Montanans, and one of the people replied, “I read two of them (the stories) and it sounds pretty good … I might have to think about this one a bit. My family is old time Montana people so I”m sure I could just use some of their history and build a story on it somehow. How fun!!!!! Thanks for sharing the site!!!!!!!”
Very cool, Walter – thanks! I noticed that there is already some action over in McKinley!
