Reality TV in Montana (?)

September 25, 2005 | 2 Comments

There have been several reports in the last few weeks about reality TV shows filming in Montana. One incident was reported at Tower Rock, south of Great Falls, and the other took place on the Missouri River in and around Fort Benton. Some have speculated that “The Amazing Race” was filming in Montana, but there’s no confirmation.

I read in the Trib that it was not “The Amazing Race.” I found it amusing that of all the reality shows out there, whatever authority they quoted singled only one out for denial. So for those two reasons (Trib reporting, express denial), I have to give strong odds that it was “The Amazing Race.”

I have pretty good information that a leg of the Amazing Race was filmed in Montana.
I know the people whose ranch was used for the pit stop. I didn’t hear it from them but
I heard it from a relative of theirs and I don’t think he was making it up. Mainly because he never
has watched the Amazing Race and didn’t even know what it was.

Unless they go through the motions of filming fake portions of the race to throw people off! :-)
