I’m new here, but just wanted to post about our new home! We’ll be living in the Helena area. We’re putting our house up for sale here, and are busy packing and purging. Our sanity is kept by staring at all of the pictures we took in May when we bought our land!
We’re very impressed with all of Montana, from east to west, but the people in particular were the biggest suprise. I am just amazed by the spirit of the people in so many different areas that volunteer and do so many things together to help each other and their area. Every town we read about had some community project that saved everyone tax money and provided a chance to get together and accomplish something that everyone wanted. My husband looks forward to the privelege of volunteering for the fire patrols, as I am raring to go with the 4-H and community projects.
We thought we would have a hard time integrating ourselves because of very well deserved resentment of outsiders, but just on our small trip, our future neighbors were already helping us get to know the area and people! We look forward to earning the affections of our community.
We’re hoping to move by November, so here’s to the most wonderful state in the country!

Welcome to our neck of the woods, remnant. Hope ya enjoy your stay in our state!
When you come to Missoula, be sure to visit A Carrousel for Missoula, a hand-carved carrousel built entirely by volunteers. It’s beautiful.
Welcome to Helena! We’ve been here 10 years (I married a Montanan), and I think Helena combines many of the best features of Montana including a relatively central location, lakes, rivers, mountains, open spaces, fairly mild climate, and it’shalfway between Glacier and Yellowstone).
Hello there, My husband and I have been researching the Great Falls and the Kallispell areas as two places to re-locate next Sept.06 Wev’e been here in Alpine Texas for over two years + and can’t wait to get the heck out of here, we lived in Wash. state for over 26 years, and desperately miss the pacific northwest, to be honest we miss the United states! They should go on and give this God forsaken place back to Mexico! Anyways we are saving to move, and we like what we are seeing so far, My husband is a drug and Alcohol Therapist, and I am a seamstress, cook and can learn just about any job. I am not afraid to move as I can’t think of any thing I’d rather do at this point, we embrace change. Wev’e explored other websites and are pleased at what we have found so far, is there any thing that we should be aware of other than have money to get setteled? Since you are living there what are your likes and dislikes about either area? Thanks bunches!
