Moving to Montana
July 13, 2005 | 1 Comment
Just happened on this web site and found out that I’m not the only one moving to Montana. We also will be moving to Kalispell this September. My husband is a carpenter and I’m an interior designer. What are the work prospects for our kind of professions? We have been renting in Florida and are leaving this Sunday to fly to Kalispell and see a log home that we have found online. It seems to be perfect and is just outside of Kalispell. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. My husband also makes log furniture so I think that might come in handy out there. Also, we are both chefs and would love to open a cafe. Is there a need for something like that in Kalispell? We are really into gourmet cooking and wonder what the natives would think of that??? Thanks

Wow — I’m not quite a native Montanan — but from my 3 years here, I think that your skills would serve you VERY well. Nice log furniture is ALWAYS in demand, and good eating will always be in style — particularly in area like Kalispell, which has savvy townsfolk AND a nice tourist base. I think you’d do very well up here!
